The hugely-growing tourism industry of Dubai has created a healthy competition, opening up new opportunities in the sector. This positive competition is leading visitors to enjoy its benefits such as better services at competitive price.
Thanks to this, finding accommodation in Dubai is not really a big task, provided the number of hotels available in the emirate. Areas like Deira has been home to many hotels and Comfort Inn hotel is one of them.
In my opinion, Deira is an ideal location to stay in Dubai. The area has everything from hotels to cafes and restaurants, shopping places, metro station, garden, travel agencies, banks and money exchangers etc.
Comfort Inn hotel is located off Al Rigga road, just about 5 KMs from Dubai International Airport (DBX). The nearest metro station is Union metro station which can be reached on foot in about 5 minutes.
Besides being well-connected, Comfort Inn hotel has a supermarket nearby -right in front, to be exact. There are many options nearby for those who would like to indulge in the pleasure of local food on a budget (like me).
If you wish to enjoy shopping (Of course you do. You’re in Dubai, remember?), you could head over to Old Souq (souq = market), perfume souq, gold souq, Meena Bazaar (bazaar = market) – everything in nearby areas.
For any business, the staff it employs is its real asset. Comfort Inn employs a diverse and welcoming staff and I do have to admire their way of working.
As soon as I walked towards the door, the helper offered his help with my luggage with a smiling face. The ladies I met while checking in were soft-spoken and seemed well-trained.
The staff spoke many languages including Arabic, English, Filipino, French and Hindi.
Every time I spoke to any staff member over the phone or in-person, I had a good experience. The staff members were happy to answer and solve my queries.
Room and Facilities
I booked Standard Single Room via Booking.com and requested it to be a non-smoking one. After checking in, I was happy to find that the room was indeed a non-smoking one.
The room provided to me was nicely made and everything was in place. In addition to a cozy bed (two beds actually. They were combined to make it one), the room had a side table, two chairs, one small and one bigger table. It had a television set too, which I never used.
The air-conditioning system was working perfectly. Hot water was available at any given time, including early morning and late night.
An adaptor was available to let me use my charging cables featuring round pins with the three-pin square sockets.
WiFi was available in all areas of the hotel. While the internet worked without issues, it was inconvenient to enter username/password each time it was disconnected.
Soap, bath gel and shampoo was available in the bathroom. A hair dryer was also available, which I didn’t use but found to be in working condition.
The bathroom had a bathtub, a toilet seat, a bidet, a sink and a full-size mirror -everything in near-perfect condition.
Water bottles were not complimentary and their cost was higher than the regular price. Complimentary coffee or tea was not available either. I wish at least one water bottle and coffee/tea maker was available complimentary.
Breakfast was not included with my stay (you can choose to add it). A multi-cuisine restaurant is available where you can enjoy breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as coffee from Starbucks.
The charge to make a local call was AED 3 (almost 1 US dollar) for one minute.
The best part about my room and the hotel as a whole was its cleanliness. It made a pleasant impression on me. Everything from the entrance to elevator, lobby, room and bathroom was kept neat and clean.
Checking-in and Checking Out
I reached about one and a half hour early than the official check-in time of 14:00. I provided the receptionist with the copy of my booking and my passport. After my payment was done, I was told to wait.
After waiting for about 15 minutes, my check-in was complete and my room was ready to let me in.
The checkout was also hassle-free, which was finished within minutes. I paid my phone charges, I was given the bill for my stay and I was given a feedback form -which I filled.
Within a week after my checkout, I received an email from the general manager of Comfort Inn hotel, thanking me for my stay and asking for any feedback I had. I liked this gesture which shows the hotel cares about providing a pleasant stay and wish to improve.
Comfort Inn Hotel: Overall Impressions
Overall, my 4-night stay with Comfort Inn was a pleasant one. I thoroughly enjoyed the place and their services at very reasonable rate. I wish I could stay there for a little longer.
If you’re heading to Dubai and looking for a nice accommodation at reasonable rates, Comfort Inn, Deira is one of the best choice available for you.
Comfort Inn is one of the most preferred hotels on Booking.com. You should book in advance to enjoy the best rates. The rates increase when only a few rooms are available.
In the end, I would like to thank Comfort Inn hotel for offering me a stay which I thoroughly enjoyed. At this moment, I have nothing to complain about it and I do wish they continue to provide such wonderful experience.
Will I visit them again? I definitely would!
