Join me on a photowalk around Khau Galli at Mohammed Ali road, Mumbai. We explore this forever-bustling street that wears an even charming look during Ramzan through street photography and food tasting.

The photowalk starts with us discussing the agenda for the evening and an introduction to Ramadan/Ramzan. Then we walk, talk, and of course, photograph. There are going be opportunities to do candid street photography and portraits, and taste and learn about some popular street food offerings. We can talk with people who make/sell the food and those who are there to buy/eat.

We conclude the walk at Bohri Mohalla, Bhendi Bazaar as we indulge in some food and drinks.

This walk is suited for participants who want to explore Mumbai’s popular street food lane through photography. Photographers, non-photographers, serious hobbyists, or amateurs – everyone is welcome.

Embrace yourself – it’s might get crowded – and we are there to create order out of chaos. So fasten up your shoelaces, clutch your camera, and get ready to explore the street food heaven at Mohammed Ali road khau galli.

Note: This photo walk takes place in a fast-moving, crowded environment. You will need swiftness, quick decision-making, and patience as we move around. If a crowded narrow street is not your preferred photography place, this walk might not be suitable for you.

Is this a street food tour or a photography tour?

This is not a tour with a guide. This is a street photography walk where we explore the neighbourhood through photography. When I was preparing this walk, I thought of adding food tasting to it because if we visit Mohammed Ali road and not eat anything, it’s kind of an incomplete experience.

Who can join?

Anyone above the age of 18 years. Whether you are an amateur, hobbyist, serious enthusiast, or professional photographer, or not a photographer at all – you are welcome.

Can someone with special assistance/accessibility needs join?

The location of the walk may not allow people with special assistance or accessibility needs to move freely as it’s mostly crowded.

I am a vegan/have a special diet. Can I join?

Yes, you can join but access to vegan/special diet food is not guaranteed. See below.

I don’t want to eat and drink. Is there a different fee for me?

Yes, book the No Food option below.

Can I just walk in?/Can I bring a friend?

No, only registered participants are allowed. Please finish registration formalities for each participant prior to the walk.

I don’t have a camera. Can I join with a phone?

Can I bring a film camera?

Yes. As long as you know how to operate your equipment, any type of camera or phone is fine.

I registered but can not join. Can I get a refund?

Sorry, no refunds if cancelled within seven (7) days prior to the walk. 10% administration charges applicable if cancelled before 7 days. If the organiser cancels the event and can not offer an alternative date, you will receive full refund.
